A Study On The Oil Painting Of Chinese Contemporary Urban Landscape

With the development of the society, the city we live in varies greatly every day. Art comes from life, but it goes further than life. Urban landscape, one of the important themes of oil paintings, plays an significant role in the diversified development of oil painting. Combining the current situation of city landscape paintings and the development of urbanization in modern society, this thesis mainly studies on the oil paintings of Chinese contemporary urban landscape. The author discusses the manifestations, painting languages and the spiritual connotations of six Chinese contemporary oil painters in this thesis.This thesis consists of three main parts. The first part is an introduction of the city landscape oil paintings. In this part, the author gives an elaboration of the current research situation and development process of contemporary city landscape oil paintings. Part Two is an analysis of some contemporary representative artists in this field together with their works, including Zhang Xinquan, Du Haijun, Zhao Xiaojia, Lai Yuan, Xu Xiaoyan, Zhu Fei and so on. The author, in this part, aims to learn more about the different styles of their paintings through their artistic experiences, works and creations. And on the basis of these, the creating origin of city landscape oil paintings is summarized. Then with the analysis in the last part, Part Three gives a generalization of the common feathers and theme characteristics of city landscape oil painting.
