Investigations On The Current Situation Of Chinese Language Training Institutions For Foreigners And Development Solutions In Suzhou

Chinese language training institutions serve as platforms of exchanges and learning for foreigners to better understand Suzhou and China, and to better work and live in China. At present, there are altogether 20 institutions providing Chinese language training programs for foreigners, most of them start to do such kind of businesses with the trend of the emerging markets for learning Chinese in recent years. As a newborn group, Chinese language training institutions can not avoid facing many problems. This thesis will investigate on the situation of dozens of Chinese language training institutions in Suzhou. we find out the obstacles that hinder the development of these institutions, including the difficulty in enrolling new students, the high turnover of faculty, the weak teaching resources, the improper use of teaching materials, the lack of effective teaching supervision mechanism, the ignorance of the advantaged resources from universities and colleges in Suzhou,less peer exchange interaction and the outlook is not clear, etc. The main reasons are narrow enrollment channels, low management level of teachers, imperfect supervision mechanism and the market of enterprise development.Suzhou Chinese language training institutions try to find a breakthrough when facing these difficulties. Through investigation and analysis, we can try to do some research,these ways include to develop market-oriented products, to strengthen the construction of teaching groups, to focus on the development of courses and the use of teaching materials, to enhance cooperation with universities and colleges, to establish teaching union, to introduce teaching modes and to improve the supervision of the market.After the initial stage of exploration and integration, we believe that the Suzhou Chinese language teaching institutions can overcome the sufferings, walk out of predicament and carve out their own piece of heaven and earth through their own adjustment reform and the external environment support, in such an outward looking city. And the experience of Suzhou Chinese language training institutions get in the development can provide useful inspiration to other Chinese language training institutions of large and medium-sized cities in domestic.
