China and Japan are interrelated neighboring countries, connected on the sea. Due to the cultural communications of great antiquity since thousands years ago, and the frequent interactions in the modern era, the comparative study of cross-cultural communication between China and Japan have been a hot focus of research in relevant area. This paper analyzed the similarities and differences in the cross-culture communication between China and Japan systematically and roundly from three parts. Specifically, the paper was composed of introduction, main body and epilogue. In the introduction, author made a brief review on the relationship between cross-cultural communication and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, expounded the research background and research method,what’s more, made a summary about the existent research. The main body have three parts,in the first place, the paper based on the differences between Chinese and Japanese cultural back-grounding, dissected the root cause of cultural conflict from the perspective of language, aesthetics and value. The article was divided into two parts, intercultural verbal communication and intercultural nonverbal communication. The second chapter compared the linguistic performance and communicative style of Chinese and Japanese in different communicative situations through the analysis of a vast amount of pragmatic examples.Chapter three compared the communicative function of body language, para-language,object language and environmental language, and made a careful and detailed analysis in regard to intercultural nonverbal communication. Finally, epilogue gave a overall summary of this paper and made a reflection. In the view of the above, author raised a few proposals on teaching Chinese towards Japanese.
