Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Foreign Language belongs to the second language teaching. The fundamental purpose of TCFL is to develop the ability to communicate effectively in Chinese. On the one hand, as one part of culture, language is deeply influenced by the latter. On the other hand, as the carrier of culture, language contains and displays culture in a rich way. Due to the closely connection, it is impossible to isolate language teaching from cultural context, or even realize the goal of improving intercultural communication ability. The teaching material is one of the most important supplementary tools, and it is also the precondition of teaching.Relearning theoretical knowledge of cross-cultural communication, it could find that cultural conflict, cultural attachment and cross-cultural communication ability is the main theoretical which affected Chinese learner greatly. Through the comparison between the old and new teaching material, the author draw a conclusion that the apply of cross-cultural communication related closely with students’ daily life and social environment. Originated from three aspects of polite language, social environment and way of thinking, Chinese language teachers need to teach the language on the base of material and take cross-cultural phenomena into consideration, which would be helpful to students’ daily communication. There are two types of cross-cultural communication in the material for primary and middle stage learners, one is verbal and the other is nonverbal. To ensure that the cross-cultural communication could be progress smoothly, it is necessary that organize the teaching material in the line accordance with language communication project. And further improvements which aims at the nonverbal cross-cultural phenomena that are absent in teaching materials. Class teaching can make up the lacking of cross-cultural phenomena in teaching materials and adjust the teaching strategies such as generality, practicability, comparability, interests. Besides, improving teaching material and modifying content which doesn’t conform to the principle of cross-cultural communication could meet the requirements of Chinese learners. In the new era of globalization, the materials about teaching Chinese as a foreign language constantly. This will arouse the awareness and thought of how to compile suitable materials that fit in with learners commendably, and how to guide them to conduct more effective learning.
