Er Nv Ying Xiong Zhuan is a very famous novel written in spoken language by Kang Wen in Qing Dynasty. It is in transition and regarded as scriptures of modern Chinese. It is also a perfect corpus because it has a big length and is very available for metrical study.There are many studies about verb-resultative construction. We focus our study on the development, because there has been some results about the study of Tang and Song Dynasty, and Ming and Qing Dynasty are not known fully by us. Tis period is in transition between the period of Ming and Qing Dynasty and the period of contemporary. We need a full understanding about modern Chinese during Ming and Qing Dynasty for contemporary Chinese.On the basis of views of Fuxiang Wu(1999), we classify the verb-resultative complement phrases into three kinds by the semantic orientation. We study into these three kinds. In this paper, with use of both statistical and qualitative methods, we have made exhaustive analysis.The full text can be divided into five major parts: "Introduction" section describes the studies about verb-resultative complement phrases and Er Nv Ying Xiong Zhuan, its value in the history of Chinese language study, its classification, its version and our research range. In chapter I, II, and III, we make comprehensive analysis and description on every member respectively. Besides, we also make preliminary explanations on some of the special phenomenon and summaries on some rules in it. "Conclusion" section is a summary of the full essay, with a view to reveal the basic profile of the verb-resultative complement phrases in Er Nv Ying Xiong Zhuan.
