The complements in modern Chinese can be conversed between each other. On the basis of previous research and plenty of corpus, combined with related grammar theories, this thesis defines the resultative complement, degree complement, state complement and potential complement in modern Chinese in detail, explains the inherent rules of conversion between the complements, and make a clear distinction of these complements in certain languages environment in further.The text is divided into five chapters. First chapter set up the research contents and methods, focusing on previous researches of the transformation between complements. The central part is the second to fourth chapters,the second chapter reclassifies complements according to the grammatical meaning to eight kinds and defines the resultative complement, degree complement, state complement and potential complement in composition way. The third chapter, core part of the text, shows the main principles and rules of conversion between these complements by ways of the ontology of language semantic orientation and cognitive grammar. The fourth chapter make out the specific differences between the complements which are easily confused from the concepts of pronunciation and intonation, grammatical meaning, component part, negative form and question formulation. The fifth chapter summarizes the whole dissertation.
