The profound and long-standing Chinese culture forms a cultural system in its long-term development,which focus on Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.Especially in the feudal era,emperors and civilians were affected by traditional culture.Taoism is a native religion of China,with a wide range of believers,and it is a social force that cannot be ignored.The Emperor Jia-jing suppressed other religions and respected Taoism for many reasons during the Jia-jing Dynasty,therefore,the social atmosphere has undergone major changes.In an era of mutual penetration between Taoist culture and feudal imperial power,as a representative of handicrafts,ceramics witnessed the development of social culture and artistic thought during this period.Therefore,this Academic paper takes the Taoist decorative patterns on the ceramics of Jia-jing Dynasty as the starting point and the foothold of the research.In recent decades,the theory of semiotics in the West has appeared more and more frequently in the academic world.Its own openness and complexity have led us to re-recognize things from different angles.Therefore,in accordance with the academic trend,the author tries to use the decorative patterns on the ceramics of Jia-jing Dynasty as the research object,and uses the relevant concepts,theories and methods of Image Semiotic to analyze.The content includes: firstly,to clarify the background of the Taoist decorative patterns,secondly further classify the Taoist decorative patterns on the image symbol,the indicative symbol and the symbolic symbol,and then deeply analyze the Taoist decorative patterns in encoding and decoding,and finally explore the rhetoric and semantic construction of the meaning of Taoist decorative patterns,and in the process I will prepare the corresponding pictures of ceramics to support the views.
