The existing research results in the teaching Chinese as foreign characters, more attention is focused on the whole characters and components of Chinese characters,the strokes is ignored.As the basic unit of Chinese character,strokes is a very characteristic system,We can follow its law to help Chinese Teaching.In addition,during the teaching practice,I find that the learners actually have many problems of writing Chinese characters.There are many reasons for these problems,apart from the character--istics of the Chinese character system,learners’own factors which are related to learning strategies such as learning beliefs,learning methods,and learning habits are also an important aspect that affects Chinese character writing and leaming.so combined the characteristics of Chinese character strokes with the investigation of learners’ learning strategies,I hope to provide some feasible advice for the strokes’ teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and also some implications for the teachers.In the thesis used the literature research method, questionnaire survey method, linking theory with practice,the questionnaires are used to investigate the overseas students of Yunnan University.I found that learners subjective is generally believed that hard to write Chinese characters,and they agree that learn strokes are helpful for Chinese character writing, always need the help of the teacher to learn strokes,but in fact,there strokes learning strategy use situation is not ideal, on the specific stroke learning strategy use, use frequency and the number is put in bigger difference, the overall situation is application of a strategy to use more, followed by meta-cognitive strategy, the font and induction, review strategies, memory strategies and compensation strategies using the biggest difference.This shows that stroke teaching is the weak link of Chinese teaching, teach less and less, the Chinese character writing only see results ignore the problems of the process, is affected by some teaching methods, and even appeared to write Chinese characters, there is no learning attitude, I think it is not conducive to improve the level of Chinese,so we need to change, from learning attitude, concepts and learning strategies, etc.
