Teaching material is an important basis for the teaching process and is a necessary materials in to teaching and learning,so that plays a crucial role in foreign Chinese teaching. In the primary stage of foreign teaching Chinese, for foreign students the who preliminary contact with the Chinese, textbooks are often an important material for them to learn Chinese or even the only materials, therefore the scientific, rationality and fun of textbooks will directly affect the effect and continuity of the students who learning Chinese. In recent years, there are many kinds of the teaching materials for Chinese as a second language that not only have localization and Country-specific, but also have explanation and training for specialized skills. But there is a comprehensive textbook on comparative study between China and Korea in the are a of culture is still relatively less. So this paper selects the six textbooks,the three of which compiled by experts who are Koreans for the South Korean high school used in the classroom and the other three of which compiled by experts who are Chinese for the membership from other countries in Europe and America students to use. We will compare cultural area of the six textbooks, then find the advantages and disadvantages of them by the classification statistics,the questionnaire survey and the interview, etc. On this basis, we will explore the principles written in the cultural area of the teaching materials for Chinese as a second language, and try to give some implications for the textbook compilation.This paper is divided into three parts, the first part describes the background and significance and the status quo of comparison by China and South Korea Foreign Language Textbooks in primary culture area comparative. In addition, we introduced the researches, research methods and definition of related concepts.The second part, we first investigate teaching situation of cultural areas in primary teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language material,analyze surveys and summarizes interviews with the relevant teachers and students. Secondly,we find cultural topics of students are interested in and views and thoughts on cultural areas in textbooks. Finally, we propose some teaching suggestions.The third part is a comparative analysis of the primary foreign language teaching materials in China and South Korea’s culture section. In this part, we mainly makes a detailed comparing analysis from three aspects:the form of the culture areas, cultural factors and the content.The fourth part, we analyze the compilation principle of cultural sector in the primary teaching materials for Chinese as a second language and proposed some suggestions for this area compilation.We hope we can propose some useful suggestions for the preparation and revision of the teaching materials for Chinese as a second language through through a comparative research on culture ares of the six books.
