Easy Steps to Chinese(Textbook 1)and English(Grade 5)of yilin which are two sets of elementary textbooks for Chinese and foreign children are similar in the compilation concept and principles,style and structure,text content and other aspects of the textbooks.Using the method of comparative analysis,it can be found that compared with the domestic children's primary school English textbook,the Chinese textbook is not obvious in terms of interesting content and form,as well as cultural aspects.In addition,communicative exercise forms are not rich enough,and the text content and exercise forms are generally lack of diversity.Based on the results of the comparative analysis and my own experience in teaching Chinese and English as a second language,this paper puts forward some Suggestions on compiling Chinese textbooks for children from the aspects of phonetics,vocabulary,grammar,text,exercise guide language,pictures and auxiliary resources.
