Research On Cultural Industry Competitiveness Of HuBei Province

With the advance of economic globalization, many economists and countries considered the cultural industry as "sunrise industry". In the special period of "Rise of Central China", Hubei province as one of six provinces in central China, its comprehensive development is very important for promoting to implementation the strategy successfully. Cultural industries’s good development is very important for enhancing the strength of Hubei Province.In order to promote the cultural industries in Hubei Province faster and faster, It is very important to research the ranking of Hubei Province Cultural Industry Competitiveness in entire country. Based on the understanding of the theoretical of cultural industry competitiveness, defending the concept of it and trying to build a scientific indicator system to research the Cultural Industry Competitiveness of country’s 31 provinces, so we can obtain the final country ranking results. By analyzing the rankings of Hubei Province, we can study the impact of possible reasons.Many scholars have studied the culture industry competitiveness with only one method, thus the outcome can not be verified the rationality and reliability of ultimate results. Based on the quantitative analysis process, we used two evaluation methods like factor analysis and TOPSIS. Because TOPSIS method can only come to the ranking results, so we can not study the impact reason. If the factor analysis was chosen,we can not only get the rankings but also finding the impact factors by analyzing of the factor scores. Therefore, this article choose the factor analysis to obtain the ranking of Hubei Cultural Industry Competitiveness and using this method derived four common factor, followed by industrial consumption factor, industrial vigor factor, basic resources and innovation factor calculated the ranking of each common factor and overall ranking score of 31 provinces. Adopting the TOPSIS method to acquire the ranking of 31 provinces. Then use Kendall Concorde coefficient to test two methods,we found those result had consistent results.So the rationality and scientific of the factor analysis’ outcome can be proved.According to the calculated rankings by factor analysis, the ranking of Cultural Industry Competitiveness of Hubei Province Ranking is 15, in which both innovation and industrial consumption factor ranked 20, in the position of middle or lower level, while basic resources factor and industrial viability factor ranked both 13. Then listing exhaustive report of each of the rankings and discussing the probable reasons. We give some recommendation to heighten the competitiveness of the cultural industry in Hubei Province.
