With the continuous integration of culture and tourism in the new era,related research on the cultural tourism industry has attracted widespread attention at home and abroad.Competitiveness is an important reference for measuring the comprehensive strength of a country or region.Studying the competitiveness of urban cultural tourism industry,analyzing the obstacles and problems in the development and competitiveness of cultural tourism industry,seeing the limitations and deficiencies of its own development,and drawing on the development advantages of other cities in these areas can help accelerate the rapid development of cultural tourism and related industries,promote the transformation and upgrading of industrial structures,as well as pioneering and innovation.It can not only promote regional economic growth,but also achieve sustainable development,thus enhancing people's sense of happiness and gain in life.This study first introduces the background of the development of domestic and foreign cultural tourism industry,emphasizes the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of the cultural tourism industry,sorts out relevant research at domestic and abroad in chronological order.On the basis of summarizing relevant theories,research methods and research results at home and abroad,according to the characteristics of the development of the cultural tourism industry,consulted experts and teachers to select the evaluation indicators,and constructed a cultural tourism industry competitiveness evaluation system.Based on the existing 9 national central cities(Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Chongqing,Chengdu,Wuhan,Zhengzhou and Xi'an)as research samples,using the entropy weight-TOPSIS method to conduct empirical research and comprehensive evaluation of the competitiveness of the cultural tourism industry,and using radar charts to analyze the relative competitive advantages and disadvantages of each city.Based on this,an obstacle degree model is introduced to diagnose the obstacle factors in the competitiveness of the cultural tourism industry in the 9 central cities of the country.According to the empirical results,the problems existed in the promotion of the competitiveness of the cultural tourism industries in the central cities are sorted out effective advice.The research results show the ranking of comprehensive strength of the cultural tourism industry of the nine national central cities is: Beijing,Shanghai,Chongqing,Guangzhou,Tianjin,Xi'an,Chengdu,Wuhan and Zhengzhou.In the ranking of the criterion level,the ranking of the core competitiveness of the cultural tourism industry is: Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Chongqing,Xi'an,Tianjin,Chengdu,Wuhan,and Zhengzhou;the ranking of basic competitiveness is: Beijing,Shanghai,Chongqing,and Guangzhou.,Chengdu,Tianjin,Wuhan,Xi'an,and Zhengzhou;the economic development competitiveness rankings is: Shanghai,Beijing,Guangzhou,Chongqing,Tianjin,Chengdu,Wuhan,Zhengzhou,and Xi'an;the environmental competitiveness from high to low is: Beijing,Shanghai,Chongqing,Guangzhou,Tianjin,Chengdu,Zhengzhou,Wuhan and Xi'an;the development potential of the cultural tourism industry is: Beijing,Guangzhou,Shanghai,Wuhan,Chengdu,Chongqing,Tianjin,Xi'an and Zhengzhou.Among them,Beijing's cultural tourism industry has the most balanced and comprehensive development and the strongest competitiveness.The empirical results combined with radar chart analysis show that,except Beijing,the main problems in the competitiveness of the cultural tourism industry in other central cities are: inadequate mining of cultural connotation,insufficient promotion and marketing,relatively few resources,insufficient ability to attract investment,lack of innovation and low overall economic level.In response to these issues,this study puts forward suggestions such as integrating resources,increasing brand influence,promoting sustainable development,optimizing investment environment,and innovating the industrial chain to promote the better development of urban cultural tourism industry and the optimization and improvement of its competitiveness.
