With the rise of Zhang Ling, Li Yan, Chen He, Sun Bo, Zeng Xiao wen,Yu Xi as the representative of the "Toronto novelist group", the creation of New Immigrants Chineseliterature in Canada in terms of quality or quantity have reached a new level. "Toronto novelist group" literature describes not only the Struggle of New Chinese immigrants or life experiences in the new country, but also the performance of new immigrants to the survival circumstances thoughts and feelings, moreover reflects the culture of new immigrants had experienced a variety of communication, collision and conflict. Throughout the "Toronto novelist group" works, "cultural identity" is the issue which always needed to explore and location. This paper base on Homi Bhabha’s Hybrid Theory as the guiding ideology, Using comparative study thinking and perspective, try to catch sight of "Toronto novelist group "cultural identity’s features.The main part of this thesis contains three chapters, counting the introduction and conclusion,there are five parts totally. The specific contents are as follows:The first chapter briefly reviews the stage division of immigrant literature in chronological order, as the same time basing on the characteristics of the immigrant literature, this paper puts forward the development of the new immigrant literature. Then it selects the "Toronto novelist group" as the object, through the forms of objective condition external force、subjective reason and other aspects elaborated "the Toronto novelist group" is the most representative one in Canada’s new immigration literature. At last, it Puts forward the research focus of this paper, cultural identity issues that have become increasingly prominent in Immigration Studies.The second chapter based on the postcolonial point of view, it proposes immigrants as the minority began to speak out, they try to change the distorted image of the whole Chinese Orientalist by the description of the image of the Chinese people. The it discusses "Toronto novelist group" cultural identity in Chinese writing and female writing two aspects, persisting in using Chinese writing in exotic is the way which Chinese immigrant writers shows their own existence and cultural identity, as the identity of the double edge of Toronto woman writer, they recall their home,express emotions and explore human nature by literary form, using the way of writing to against patriarchal ideas and construct their own cultural identity.The third chapter taking the concrete text analysis as examples, from three aspects of the"liquidity"," hybrid "and National Fable to explore the textual strategy of Toronto writers’identity construction. "Liquidity" manifests the transformation of the living space bring the identity change, the flow of character perspective also hinted the conversion of the identity. Hybridization including identity and cultural mix, "hybrid" is the best representative of hybridization identity, it is the "window" of the new cultural identity exploration and pursuit of the new immigrant writers in Canada, mixed culture is the phenomenon which are formed cross-border migration in associate with alien, it reflects the recognition and affirmation of cultural hybridity in Toronto novelist creations.The conclusion part summarizes the significance of this thesis, combined with "Toronto novelist group" cultural identity characteristics, pointing out that the cultural identity of immigration cannot be bound in a certain region, it is the fluidity and hybridity and multi point of view of the particularity, "citizen of the world" is perhaps the best location of new immigration status.
