Canadian teaching history of Chinese teaching for a hundred years, and with the increase of China’s comprehensive national strength of its commercial value, cultural value continues to be strengthened, the Chinese school organization has gradually developed into a public school and spontaneous private schools under the two categories. The source of Chinese teachers gradually from the Chinese language education to the development of Chinese teachers, including the Chinese language teachers from Chinese mainland,Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, even the further study students and other groups. The course of Canadian Chinese teaching is not the same, most of the Chinese language as a second language teaching, and in some areas of the Edmonton school, the use of bilingual teaching in English. At the same time teaching materials have simplified body, Hong Kong and Macao Chinese teaching use the traditional chinese, and to the Confucius Institute as the representative of the mainland Chinese teaching institutions mainly adopt simplified teaching materials. Because of the emergence of these problems caused by the lack of professional Chinese teachers, lack of localized application of teaching materials, teaching method, teaching method and so on. Led to the Chinese language teaching in Canada, showing a diversified characteristics.In recent two years at Confucius College in Canada to promote the controversial "soft power" threat can be heard without end of McMaster University and other universities closed, Confucius College, Toronto Education Bureau and the Confucius institute cooperation fizzled. How to get out of the predicament of Confucius College is the core issue of Chinese culture promotion.In view of the above problems, the author believes that we should speed up the construction of professional Chinese teachers in the perspective of language education, develop a unified teaching target, enrich the teaching objectives, improve the teaching level, develop the teaching materials, and develop multimedia Chinese textbooks and Chinese language teaching software.In this paper, the history and present situation of Chinese language teaching in Canada as the research object, using the literature research and comparison method, through field survey and interview method to collect the views of teachers and students, strengthen the main body of this paper, trying to provide some references for the healthy and stable development of Chinese education in Canada.
