"Oedipus complex" is one of the most important concepts from the famous Austrian psychologist Sigment Frued. As one of the most influencing theories in 20-century, the effects are widely. Not only in psychology and clinic medicine, but also made waves in literature field. In 1915, began from the "new culture movement", lots of scientists and scholars brought advanced scientific gains to China. Frued was one of the most famous psychologists, and well-known by many Chinese scholars. Cao-yu, who has a very important status in modern play field in China, his play " Thunderstorm(Lei-yu)" is reviewed by many critics especially the main role " Zhou-ping" is widely talked about. "Zhou-ping" is a very complex and tragic role, and he is a typical "Oedipus complex" type character in modern Chinese literature.D.H Lawrence called as a most creative writers in 20-century. "Sons and lovers" is one of the most successful autobiographical no vels of Lawrence’s pieces. He tried to cast off from strict religious orders and "back-ward" moralities. He also tried to describe the re al characters of who really live in real life. His fine and smooth wo rds were let readers realized the emotional interweaves between mo ther and son. Li-hui-shan is a hard-core writer in Korean-Chinese society, her novel "Red Butterfly" is praised as an excellent psychol ogical novel. The main character of "Red Butterfly" also suffered in ner subconscious "Oedipus complex", so that he couldn’t fall in love and build relationships with females. Her novel used a new sight to describe people’s inner minds, and combine her theme with national characters and local characters.The three novels were written by different counties from differe nt nationalities in different times, but the main theme was similar. T hey were all around a leading character who suffered from "Oedipus complex" to make connection, and theirs’psychological defects lea d to a tragic story.This paper tries to analysis from the connections of each chara cter around the leading character, and finds out the contradictions o ccur and processed. In addition, to expounding the influence relation with "Sons and Lovers" and "Red Butterfly", the latter did not mer ely imitate the former.This is composed of four chapters. Chapter one is instruction. I n this part, it summaries research statues of the three novels about "Oedipus Complex" first, expounding secondly research methodolog y, and finally elaborating the purpose of this paper. In chapter two, paper researches from the social and historical phenomenon around those three novels and summarizes the similar background elements. Chapter three is comparative study of the connections between lea ding character and people who around the character. It tries to anal ysis how and what makes contradictions occur and processing. The last chapter is conclusion. To sum up those three novels are how t o discuss people’s inner world with theirs’own words, and what kin d of elements are inspiring readers.
