Project Report On Translation Of Brief History Of Henan Jin Niu Zu Foodstuff Co., Ltd.

This report is based on the translation of Brief History of Henan Jin Niu Zu Foodstuff Co., Ltd. belonging to international publicity translation. With some 16,058 Chinese characters, this translation project contains three parts, namely Scientific Research, Dedication and Management. This report analyzes the whole translation process from the viewpoint of the international publicity translation.With the purpose of introducing the company and its foodstuff to foreigners, this report records the specific work of three stages, namely pre-translation stage, during-translation stage and post-translation stage. Guided by Skopos theory, the author figures out the translation purpose, analyzes source text and target audience as well as selects translation methods. In this report, the author mainly applies rewriting, conversion, transliteration +explanation, literal translation+explanation, free translation, addition and deletion to achieve desired publicity effect. Meanwhile, the author points out translators should flexibly apply translation methods to deal with different translation difficulties. Moreover, the author picks some typical sentences to analyze the application of translation methods. Finally, the author summarizes the experiences and inspirations gained from the translation practice.Additionally, during the translation procedure, the author figures out that this translation practice mainly focuses on properly introducing Jin Niu Zu and its foodstuff, and making the translated text more acceptable and idiomatic to readers, for the sake of effectively attracting the potential customers. At last, the author hopes that this project could be of help and offer references for other translators when translating international publicity materials.
