With the deepening of China’s opening up, Jiangsu and theworld have an increasingly close relationship. The tourist publicity materials of Jiangsu promoted the development of Jiangsu’s tourism industry.2014 Youth Olympic Games was hosted in Nanjing, therefore, People’s Government of Jiangsu Province decided to publish the book Guide to Interview Routes in Jiangsu written in both Chinese and English. Through translation of tourist publicity materials, the writer aims to learn translation knowledge related to tourist publicity materials, have a better understanding of lexical, syntactic, rhetorical features of tourist publicity materials; to provide reference for the future tourist publicity materials translation through the analysis of common translation errors in tourist publicity materials translation.This project report discussed theory and practice of Chinese-English translation of the Guide to Interview Routes in Jiangsu with the use of Skopos theory. The original tourist publicity materials pays attention to flowery language, therefore, the writer used literal translation, free translation, omission and other translation methods to make the translation more suitable to the features of English. Through the analysis of common translation errors in the tourist publicity materials translation, the writer reached a conclusion that Skopos theory plays a guiding role in the translation practice of tourist publicity materials; the translator needs to apply several translation methods in the translation practice when increasing the knowledge reserve.
