Social support has an important effect on health. People can get social by seeking help. But research has found that people are reluctant to seek help in many situations, especially in Asia culture. The study aimed to translate and revise The Norm of Reciprocity Questionnaire(PNR) and Support-Seeking Scale(SSS), addressed the moderate effect of reciprocity on interpersonal trust and help-seeking. The theoretical significance of the study was to propose that reciprocity was a two factors trait:positive reciprocity and negative reciprocity, confirm the validity of the Chinese version of PNR and SSS, provided empirical evidence for reciprocity factor theory and help-seeking factor theory. Reciprocity was a moderator between interpersonal trust and help-seeking which could provide new empirical evidence for relate research later. The practical significance was to provide effective scales for measuring reciprocity and help-seeking, to provide reference for college students’mental health by increase their interpersonal trust level and reciprocity level to increase their necessary help-seeking behavior. The subjects were college students,735 college students were selected by convenient sampling method. With survey method, interpersonal trust, reciprocity and help-seeking were measured by ITS, PNR and SSS.761 college students finish the administration,761 questionnaires were collected, collected rate was 100%; 735 effective questionnaires were collected, effective rate was 96.6%; among them were 269 men,462 women and 4 gender missing. The study used confirmative factor analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, analysis of variance and path analysis of LISREL8.7、SPSS21.0 to analyze the data, results arc as follows:1. Reciprocity is a two factors trait:positive reciprocity and negative reciprocity.2. The a coefficients of Interpersonal Trust Scale, The Norm of Reciprocity Questionnaire and Support-Seeking Scale and their sub-scale arc between.72-.86, the fit indices of CFA: χ2/df are between 5.42-7.91, RMSEA are between.078-.097, NNFI are between.85.91, CFI are between.86-.92,IFI are between.86-.92, GFI are between.79-.86, the reliability, validity of Interpersonal Trust Scale, The Norm of Reciprocity Questionnaire and Support-Seeking Scale all reach the standard of psychomctrics.3. The differences in gender of negative reciprocity and indirect help-seeking are statistically significant, women’s negative reciprocity level is lower than man’s, man’s indirect help-seeking level is lower than women’s;the differences in gender of interpersonal trust, positive reciprocity and direct help-seeking are not statistically significant.4. The differences in major of negative reciprocity and direct help-seeking are statistically significant, liberal major students’negative reciprocity level is lower than science major students’, science major students’direct help-seeking level is lower than liberal major students’;the differences in major of interpersonal trust, positive reciprocity and indirect help-seeking are statistically significant.5. The differences in urban/rural of positive reciprocity and negative reciprocity are statistically significant, students from city and county have a higher positive reciprocity level than students from village, students from city have a higher negative reciprocity level than students from village; the differences in urban/rural of interpersonal trust, direct help-seeking and indirect help-seeking are not statistically significant.6. The differences in grade of interpersonal trust and indirect help-seeking are statistically significant; students of Grade 4 have a higher interpersonal trust level and indirect help-seeking level than students of Grade 1,2,3, and students of Grade 3 have a higher indirect help-seeking level than students of Grade 1. The differences in grade of positive reciprocity, negative reciprocity and direct help-seeking are not statistically significant.7. Interpersonal trust has statistically significant positive effect on direct help-seeking and indirect help-seeking; positive reciprocity has statistically significant positive effect on direct help-seeking; negative reciprocity has statistically significant positive effect on indirect help-seeking.8. Negative reciprocity moderates the effect of interpersonal trust on indirect help-seeking statistically significantly.
