Along with the rapid development of our society, music education draws more and more attention nowadays. From mid-20th century, in the field of the United States modern music education, people gradually began to emphasize the concept of Music Learning Theory. Aiming at teaching students how to learn music, Music Learning Theory involves a lot of knowledge of psychology research. In the United States, Gordon Music Learning Theory has been widely understood and accepted. Within the scope of Early Childhood Music Education, the concept of Preparatory Audiation is also considered to be fairly comprehensive.Based on the concept of Preparatory Audiation from Gordon Music Learning Theory, its core ideas and basic contents are sorted and analyzed. Applications, Researches of Preparatory Audiation in the US and other countries/regions are introduced; the scientificity of Preparatory Audiation is studied and analyzed from psychological point of view.For more in-depth study on the implementation of Gordon’s early childhood music teaching theory, author conducted teaching practices in preschool children music class. Through classroom observation, after-school assessment, classroom teaching diary, analyze basing on the learning process and performance children and parents in the classroom achieved, and summarize the scientific basis of Preparatory Audiation in Early Childhood Music Education, as well as its practical teaching effect in China.Finally, through classroom teaching experiences, combining with the current situation of our country, implementation of Gordon’s Music Learning Theory and its reference significance to the field of early music education for children in China are discussed.
