The Adverb "zai (再) " has abundant meanings and usages, it is widely and frequently used in modern Chinese.It is also often appears in teaching Chinese as a foreign language grammar points."Zai" sentence pattern is a special sentence pattern that belongs to the category with the adverb "zai" to mark. In this paper, guided by three-dimensions grammar theory, the error analysis theory and inter-language theory, using questionnaire survey, corpus investigation, statistical analysis and other methods,the acquisition order is obtained through researching the rules and characteristics of different Chinese levels of foreign students’ acquisition of "zai" sentence pattern.A proposal of teaching materials and the teaching of "zai" sentence pattern is put forward according to the classification and analysis of the errors made by students, as well as summarizing the types of errors and exploring the reasons.The definition, scope and classification of "zai" sentence pattern is clarified by investigating a number of Chinese dictionaries and grammar books. According to the usage of "zai" sentence pattern in TCFL textbooks and the interpretations of the word "zai" of the main grammar books and dictionaries,we divide "zai" sentence pattern into five categories and ten sub- sentence patterns.A questionnaire survey is made to the foreign students acquisition of "zai" sentence pattern,expounding respectively from the investigation purposes,subjects, methods,questionnaire design, and statistical of results. Combining with the former analysis,a possible acquisition order of "zai" sentence patterns is obtained.Discussing the error types and reasons of "zai"sentence pattern is based on the inter-language corpus and questionnaire.Dividing the errors made by foreign students when using "zai"sentence pattern into seven types with miss-taking, omission, miss-adding, wrong order, improper collocation, sentence mix and discourse errors.Pointing out the reasons of the errors are mainly caused by five aspects with negative transference of mother tongue, negative transference of target language, misleading of teaching, learners’factors and the influence of language environment.Finding and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages by investigating grammar designs which related to "zai" sentence pattern in a series of representative TCFL leading principles and textbooks.On that basis, putting forward suggestions for the arrangement of textbooks and the improvement of teaching methods.
