Application Of The Theory Of Sense In Consecutive Interpreting

With the rapid development of China and its rising status on the international stage, there is a growing need for interpreters in recent decades to facilitate communication between China and the rest of the world. Due to the features of interpreting, interpreters will encounter many challenges in dealing with the source text in the interpreting process.This paper aims to introduce the Theory of Sense and try to solve the problems in interpreting process under its guidance. The author chooses Primer Li’s press conference on 15 th, Mar., 2015 as the source material to make the mock interpreting. This source material is served as the example for the author to further analyze the challenges and problems during the interpreting process. Under the guidance of the Theory of Sense, the paper aims to put forward coping strategies better tackle the problems in the future.
