This report is based on the author’s experience of providing CI (consecutive interpreting) service for the2013China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) One Hundred Colleges Cooperation Fair and welcome banquet. The author analyzes the speeches given by Mrs. Yang Weijia, Vice Director of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mrs. Jantaraporn Hunsavong, Director of SIBA College, Thailand, and Mr. Ge Daokai, Director General of Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education of China. Besides, Danica Seleskovitch’s Sense-based Theory is introduced in this report to analyze the whole interpreting process, to find out problems and seek for solutions. According to the analysis, the author will accumulate experience for future study and the analysis also serves as reference for other interpreters.The findings of the study indicate:1. Pre-interpreting preparation is of great importance. Interpreters should pay high attention to both long and short-term preparation.2. Interpreters should cultivate good psychological quality. Only in this way, can they have an excellent performance with good preparation, rather than suffer from stage fright.3. Being encyclopedic contributes to interpreters’ long term preparation.As related studies on the practical performance of exhibition interpreting are still inadequate so far, this thesis can be seen as a trial study, simply in the hope of improving the interpreter’s personal interpreting skills based on the past experience and at the same time, providing reference for other interpreters and researchers.
