During the Ming and Qing Dynasties along with the increase in population and the influx of immigrants, which has injected new vitality to the agricultural development of Anshun area, making the region’s agriculture was accelerating. Look from the crop variety, the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the region introduced many new varieties, such as corn, sericulture and so on. Look from the agricultural technology, farmers in the region are skillfully mastered the technology of agricultural production, such as water conservancy, improvement of tools and the use of fertilizer, and so on, in addition, the region’s farmers also accumulated a lot of experience in agriculture. This article research Anshun area as the object of the Ming and Qing Dynasties for agricultural development.In order to explore and research the historical period of agricultural development situation and experience. The study can provide some useful things about later Anshun district economic development experience and draw lessons from history, laying the solid foundation on the development of new type of agriculture. This paper mainly discusses from the parts as followings:The first chapter, which mainly discussed the basic background of the agricultural development in Anshun area during Ming and Qing Dynasties, including the aspects of natural conditions.The second and third chapter, mainly from the farming system, hydraulic conditions, tools, land reclamation to illustrate the change of agriculture. During this period, a huge increase in population, providing sufficient labor force for the development of agriculture, promote the number of land reclamation, and increase the area of cultivated land. At the same time, the region highly improve water conditionsin the Ming and Qing Dynasties,which provide good irrigation condition for the development of agriculture,conduct to the further development of agriculture and increase crop yields.The fourth chapter analyses some of the mainly crops during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The development trend of agricultural crops include two aspects :food crops and economic crops.Which is the most important,rice, maize and wheat; The main economic crops have cotton, tea and silkworm. In addition, which includes some minor cereals, for example, beans, Qiao, sorghum and so on.The fifth chapter mainly analyses the achievements of agricultural during the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Anshun area and agricultural development influencing the social progress. During this period, not only developed is the planting industry, but also others avocations are developed, such as fishing, animal husbandry and forestry. Last but not least, contacting with the development of today’s society, there are some problems in the agricultural development and provide some suggestions for providing some possibilities for future economic development.The part of conclusion summarizes the agricultural’s characteristics of development in Anshun area and transition during the period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
