Books are the mentor in the process of human development, we perceive and understand the world through the content of reading. With the development of science and technology, and the continuous improvement of the education system, education of children become the most concern topic between parents. For preschool children, the book is the role of the enlightenment and development of brain intelligence.According to the standard of children’s psychological development in our country,3-6 years old is preschool period. Although preschool children have some reading ability,but they can not be self-learning of new knowledge. They are born with lively, playful,active and diffusibility thinking, that is instinct. Children at this stage, eager to ascertain the fresh world, eager to gain more knowledge.This stage of the children have the preliminary ability to accept something, in the education of children parents should make an effort to develop a child’s thinking, learning, interacting with people and other behavior. Children’s books, as the development and guidance of children’s wisdom and thinking, is clearly no longer a commodity, they bear the important responsibility of developing a new generation of human thinking and behavior. Preschool children’s books,therefore, not only to have a bright and colorful, high-quality and rich content, the format design of beauty or ugliness is also extraordinarily important.At present, although in our country bookstore there are a wide range of the preschool children’s books, compared with foreign design of preschool children’s books still has shortcomings.Although in China there are many preschool children’s books can be regard as masterpiece,but most readings of the colors, choice of materials, as well as artistic expression is too monotonous and formality, structure design is too coarse, the style is similar.The layout design of preschool children’s books is no good to combine with psychological cognitive and physical and mental development of children at this stage. The format is too large, he cover design is not attractive, too much text, color gray,and poor interaction is the cause of children lose interest in reading.Today the quantity demanded of children’s books is growing, a lot of parents attracted to imported version of preschool children’s books, so, what’s the reason that imported version of children’s books are so popular with our country parents? What’s the difference of the format design of children’s books between foreign and China? In view of the special reading group of preschool children, what problems should be paid attention to in the layout design of children’s books has become the focus of attention of publishers and designers. Design concept, cover,format, shape, material selection, textlayout, illustrations and other layout design, to the publishing, printing, distribution of foreign preschool children’s books, which are worth our country children’s book designers and publishers to learning and using for reference. Because it is necessary to study and contrast the layout design of preschool children between China and forien, to explore the new trend of layout design in line with the needs of preschool children in China.
