The resources of development and utilization of fisheries & animal have further developed in Tang dynasty than the former generation. Fisheries & animal were treated a kind of resource, they have various influenced on the people’s material life and spiritual life. The study of fisheries & animal resources in Tang dynasty, they not only can deepen our understanding on ancient Chinese fishery, but also it is more important for us that they can provide a valuable historical reference. Especially, they can help us reasonable develop and utilize limited resources. Fishery & animal resource have mainly two characteristic, one is wide variety and full range. There were 147 kinds of fishery & animal’s resources in Tang dynasty. In terms of the fishery & animal’s resource their category and living waters, they can be divided four kinds: fishes, mollusks, crustaceans and marine mammal etc. In general, they can be divided into 2 categories: sea fishery & animal’s resources, fresh water & animal resources. The other is widely distributed, but unevenly. Fishery & animal’s resources were scared on 10 administrations in Tang dynasty. There were the superior natural conditions, prevailed eating fish and driven by the economic interests in southeast China in Tang dynasty. And it became a center of fishery & animal’s resource. At that time, the fishermen had 7 ways to catch fish such as catching with osprey, catching with fishing nets, catching with cage, catching with hook, catching with hunting, catching with drugs and catching with trap.There have been breeding and expanding to four kinds of fishes, grass carp, black carp, silver carp, bighead carp and so on; The rise of professional fishermen to promote the commercialization of the fishery.The use value of fishery& animal’s resources had many aspects, they can be not only eaten with slice, with zha, with sauce, but also can be eaten with toast, with huo, with steam, with cooking, with boiling and so on. There were various sea fish food and fresh fish food in Tang dynasty. And fishery & animal’ sources have widely medicinal value. They can both cure disease and be beauty regimen. So the people pay attention to fishery & animal’ sources of drug properties, and eaten them according to difference individual, difference time, difference quantity. Pearl shells have become important decoration in daily life. Qualitative fish skin have become important handicraft raw materials.Fishery & animal’s resources development and utilization have important influenced at that society. Firstly, enjoying the sight of fish, fishing have become an entertainment, leisure and pastimes lifestyle, Fishery & animal’s resources both enriched the people’s daily life and had the desire for a better life. Secondly, "carp" and "li" are homophonic, and become the fetish of Li’s ruling class, which advocates the prevail of carp in society at that time. Thirdly, the difference image of fish have become an topic which poets and novelists described, prompting the emergence of a large number of fish poetry and fiction, enriched the literary world. The fourth, fish decorative works have become an important subject such as ceramics, sliver and gold, terracotta figures at that time. And it has increased a colorful handicraft production in Tang dynasty.
