Literature Research Society, as one of the most important literature communities in the history of modern Chinese literature, once published a large number of translation literature in Short Story Magazine, Literature Weekly, Literature Tri-monthly and Poetry, including many translation works of Japanese literature. This paper, on the basis of the Japanese literary translation data, is designed to restore whole appearance of the Literature Research Society of Japanese literary translation, and attempts to explore the literary choices of Literature Research Society and the acceptance of Japanese literary translation.The introduction part of the article, first of all, reviews the origin of Literature Research Society and its related publications. Then the paper has an overall discussion and analysis on the studies of Literature Research Society, especially its study on translated literature. Finally the paper elaborates the significance and thoughts of the research of the paper.The main text of the paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter gives a holistic description of the Japanese literary translation works by Literature Research Society, examines the important translators’ literary thoughts, and finally explains the influences of the context of the era before and after the May Fourth Movement on Literature Research Society’s selections of Japanese literature. The second chapter, from the perspective of "human literature", discusses the literature views of Literature Research Society and the ideological themes of its translation works, and analyzes the value and the lack of the Literature Research Society’s Japanese literary translation. The third chapter, from the perspective of "revolutionary literature", examines the Literature Research Society’s Japanese literary translation, analyzes the internal and external factors affecting the Literature Research Society’s translation of Japanese proletarian literature, and examines the acceptance of the translation works of Japanese proletarian literature by Literature Research Society.
