The Short Story Magazine created a great miracle in magazine history of contemporary literature in China. No other literature readings could take such an important place continuously as twenty-two years' history in China literature, viewing and participating new literature's happening and developing like the Short Story Magazine.Short Story Magazine after reformation experienced the two important literary trans-conformation in contemporary literature in China: from old literature to now literature, from literature reformation to revolutionary literature. This theory tries to discover the internal relationship between the two periods through comparing the different performances of Short Story Magazine in different period. In order to revert a true Short Story Magazine in history with answering the question that how it could insist on its own style succeeding from the enlightenment spirit of May 4^th and humanity literature to reflect the changes in the whole unstable 1920s.After lots of reading and information study, this theory clarifies that not only the impact of new literature but also the great efforts made by the non-governmental presses caused the complete reformation of Short Story Magazine in the first trans-conformation. Short Story Magazine was considered as the pioneer of new literature development because it acted as the carrier of literature study and base for literature creation, leading literature creation forward.In contrast, Short Story magazine stepped out collegial field in the second trans-conformation, insisted on spirit of May 4^th, continued in developing the humanity and free study of new literature, kept independent and calm in Revolutionary Literature Movement, supported lots of new literary comers, and enriched the diversity of literature in China.By the way, this theory also shows the reason of ending of the magazine. During the 1930s, Proletariat Revolution Literature came up, which in fact had a certain limitation on literature creation. Kuo Min Tang Party's serious literature policy reduced the development of new literature. Also, relative freedom of thought out of May 4^th gradually disappeared. Therefore, Free study and independent spirit of Short Story Magazine faced a great deal of difficulty. From the ending of this magazine, we can also find that the rough way of new literature development.
