Research On Marxist Literature Thoughts Of Mao Dun In The Left-wing Period

Mao Dun, who has a very high position in the history of Chinese literature, is an excellent writer, literary theorist and critic in contemporary China. Not only had he a more mature theory in Marxist thought of literature and art in left-wing period, but made great achievements in literary creation and criticism. A large number of outstanding literary works were created, and thought of literature and art had been gradually formed and reflected in these works.Mao Dun’s thought of literature and art originated from early twentieth century. There was a large leap through deepening the understanding of Marxism in the revolutionary struggle. From “the literature for life” to “the literature for the proletariat”, reflected in publishing “Discussing of proletarian art”. This shows that Mao Dun began to use Marxist position, viewpoint, method and proletarian art view to analyze and comment on the phenomenon of literature and art. In Left-wing period, Mao Dun had his own unique views on the basic principle of literature and major theoretical issues by participating in a series of debates of Marxist thought of literature and art.His literary thoughts of Marx were basically formed.In the left-wing literature period, Mao Dun established a new mode of revolutionary realism literature, which reflected the social reality just passed and even in progress in large scale, wide angle panoramic view to illustrate the class and people in various contradictions and struggles. Built on this mode called “social analytical novels”, fully shows the maturity of Mao Dun’s novels creation. At the same time, Mao Dun created evaluation of Lu Xun,evaluation of Bing Xin and Chinese new literature, fiction-Introduction for fellow writers of the May Fourth Movement in left-wing period. Study on Mao Dun’s literary thought in left-wing period, will help us make better use of all kinds of literary thoughts and theories in an inclusive and equitable manner. It also helps to provide more theoretical and practical guidance for the development and innovation of contemporary literature, and to solve the new problems in Chinese contemporary literary theory and creative practice.
