Research On The Relationship Between Parental Control,Coping Style And Internet Addiction In Middle School Students

With the popularity of network and multimedia teaching, "middle school students’ Internet addiction" become one of the researchers focus on the problem. Parents as their children’s first teachers, parents for their children control method to the problem behavior of middle school students have a significant impact. Coping styles are middle school students in the face of difficulties and pressure in a kind of personality traits. Numerous studies have shown that parental control, coping styles and strong relationship between middle school students’ Internet addiction.Using the parental control questionnaire, simplified coping style questionnaire and "Internet addiction scale" with the method of random cluster sampling, 1500 high school students of Nan Chong city three middle school to carry on the survey,recycling effective questionnaire 1360, through the statistical analysis, the following conclusions:(1) Internet addiction, coping styles exist significant differences in gender, grade.Psychological control on gender differences, behavior control on the grade differences.(2) Positive coping and psychological control exist significant differences in parents educational level. Internet addiction and behavioral control extent there are differences in mother culture.(3) Control sources in the family, parents, family type and notable differences on whether parents divorced.(4) Parental control, coping styles and significant correlation between Internet addiction, and parental control and coping styles have main effect on Internet addiction.(5) Demographic variables and their parents control, dimensions of coping style can predict Internet addiction, and psychological control, behavior control, positive coping and negative coping with Internet addiction has a unique effect.(6) Positive coping and negative coping play a partial intermediary role.in parental control and network addiction.Parents’ psychology and behavior control not only directly affect the middle school students’ Internet addiction, and also through coping styles affect high school students’ Internet addiction.So, middle school students’ Internet addiction explanation,prediction and control,should not only consider the effect of parents to children butalso attach great importance to the combination of parental control and coping styles.
