The Study Of The Inclination Internet Addiction Disorder And Personality Traits,the Coping Style Of Junior Students

This paper is to study the relations among Personality traits, coping styles and Internet addiction disorder. This paper also brings to light those influential dimensions which result in Internet addiction disorder, so as to help junior school students use Internet healthily, and avoid the negative influence of Internet use.In this study, about 747 junior school students were administered a questionnaire, The Big Five Inventory, the Coping Style Scale, and the China Internet Addiction Scale were used. The main conclusions are as follows:1. There is low inclination in the process of using Internet in junior school students. Male is more than female in those Internet users who are addicted to the Internet. There are significant differences among grades in those Internet users who are addicted to the Internet.2. There is significant difference in the coping styles between highly addicted Internet users and low addicted Internet users. The junior school students of neurotic personality are more likely addicted to Internet.3. There is significant difference in the personality traits between highly addicted Internet users and low addicted Internet users. The highly addicted Internet users prefer mature Coping styles to premature Coping styles.4. Personality traits are positively related to the Coping styles. Personality traits and Coping styles are positively related to the inclination of Internet addiction disorder.5. The problem-solving style, the self-blame style and the help-seeking style can be used to forecast the inclination of Internet addiction disorder. And conscientiousness, agreeable and openness have forecasting functions to the inclination of Internet addiction disorder.6. The model reflects that the Coping styles are the mediator factor between Personality traits and inclination of Internet addiction disorder, and simultaneously Personality traits influence the Coping styles directly. And this model is identical with the supposed one.
