The translated text is excerpted from Dr. Amy Stambach’s work---who is Professor of Education at the University of Oxford--- Confucius and Crisis in American Universities, published by Routledge Press in 2014, which offers an ethnographic look at the partnership between American universities and the Confucius Institutes. This book fills the gap that before its publishing, little research has been directed to China’s investment in U.S. higher education. It gives a brief introduction on U.S.-China higher educational exchange and other contents.Not only do the development of translation strategies have a huge influence on Translation Study, but they also have guiding significance for translation practice. In this process of translating practice, the author quotes a classification of translation strategies by Andrew Chesterman, including syntactic strategies, semantic strategies, and pragmatic strategies, to probe and explore in a basic level, in order to deepen the understanding of them as well as improve the ability of translation practice.This project contains two parts: translation of this excerpt and a report on the translation of it.
