Translation Strategy Memes And Translation Practice

The present author,based on the translation practice of ?The Viral Aspects of Language: A Quantitative Research of Memetic Selection Criteria?,makes a descriptive explanation of translation strategy memes and its guidance to the translation process.In the process of the thesis writing,the author starts with gathering linguistic data for the analysis and research,and compares and contrasts source language with target language data,and then,with a large number of examples,attempts to describe the translating process and to repeatedly improves her translation under the guideline of translation strategy memes.The author concludes that translation strategy memes originate in the retrospective reflection of the translators and theorists through their translating practice,and synthesized into systematic theories,which,in return,guide the translating practice.What‘s more,the author also concludes that translation strategy memes can not only be used as tools in translating,but also as standards to judge translations.In this sense,it is essential for translators to do a great quantity of translation practice,and meanwhile,to learn some translation theories,thus,the translators‘ competence and insight could ultimately develop.
