“Song Four”, as the most important calligraphers in Chinese history, has aroused many interests from experts all the times. However, the study of “Song Four” is in the flourishing period before Qing Dynasty and it is too weak even less involved in the course of Qing Dynasty.On the basis of the stone inscription in Qing Dynasty, this study is focusing on the acceptance of “Song Four”calligraphy by the comparison of Su shi, Huang tingjian, Mi fu and Cai xiang.Before the mid-Qianlong period, the acceptance of Mi Fu is more prosperous.It is basicly behaves in :Kangxi and Qianlong’s leaning of Mi Fu;the calligraphy group focusing on learning Mi Fui has formed. In addition, Huang tingjian is also praised highly according to the push to Huang by many calligraphers influenced by textology in early Qing Dynasty.From the mid-Qianlong period to Jiaqing period, it is popular to keep copybook affected by the wind of “Advocating Yan” and his Confucianism concepts. The calligrapher in Qianlong Period is regarding Yan as more important. Try to find out the acceptance of Su Shi’s calligraphy by the argument under the concept of “Advocating Yan” and appearance of keeping Su’s copybook. The strong atmosphere of criticizing Mi Fu’s art also proves the phenomenon of advocating Cai and Su in Qianlong-Jiaqing period.In the period of Daoguang-Xianfeng,calligraphers tend to comment on calligraphy by means of poetry influencing by Song Poetry Movement. The concept“ Learning That Is Poetry” has influenced the view of calligraphy at that time so then Su and Huang’s calligraphy is more easily to be accepted. Su’s poetry influencing more people also contribute to the largerPopularization than Huang.In Tongzhi-Xuantong period, the poetry of Xiang Xiang School and Tongguang Style hold Huang Tingjian in esteem.It is certainly that his calligraphy isalso praised highly. Su shi’s calligraphy has won the approval of calligraphers of late Qing Dynasty due to Zhang Zhidong’s promoting and Song poetry Movement. Owing to ideological trend of Beixue, the rich implications in Huang’s Calligraphy recommended Huang to calligraphers specializing Beixue.
