Chinese vocabulary teaching is a very important part in teaching Chinese as a second language, and how to teach vocabulary is also always a discussion focus in vocabulary teaching. Therefore, based on this, after observing and studying the current status of vocabulary teaching, the author finds that there are mainly three major types in existing vocabulary teaching methods: word-based teaching method,character-based teaching method and morpheme pedagogy.The author think that the morpheme pedagogy as a new teaching method should be paid attention to, thus the author rearranged the theory about morpheme pedagogy.And then an investigation of the service condition of morpheme pedagogy used in teaching Chinese as a second language had been launched in four universities in Sinkiang.After carrying on the statistics on obtained data, the author had a more visual understanding in morpheme pedagogy, then analyzed the survey result and put forward some implementation proposals for teachers who teaching Chinese as a second language about how to apply morpheme pedagogy. This paper includes three parts, which are divided into six chapters,they are: Part One is introduction, including reason, purpose and significance of the topic, thought and method of research; Part Two is the main body, including 1) literature review, 2)relevance theory,which concludes the background and perspective of word-based,Zi-oriented teaching method and morpheme pedagogy,advantage and disadvantage,relevance of three lexical teaching method;then based on linguistics and psychology,the author demonstrates the morpheme pedagogy is actual effective in lexical teaching in TCSL;3)the service situation of morpheme pedagogy by questionnaire in four colleges in Sinkiang,which concludes teachers’ and students’ attitude to morpheme pedagogy,usage frequency in class,lesson types,effect and influence on students,and so on.,4) thought about implementation of morpheme teaching method based onquestionnaire. The last part is the summary to the whole paper and what is further researched in the future,which concludes that morpheme pedagogy is how to be used in class and testing its effect,and so on.
