| With the increasingly deepening of the reform and opening up, the ancient city Pingyao, Shanxi Province, following the trend of times, holds annual international photography to keep pace with the world, which tremendously increase the demands for Translation and interpreting. Being more and more famous, Organization Committee of Pingyao asks high requests for interpreter. It is the author’s great honor to take part in some interpreting activities and got some experience. This report will make an analysis and conclusion on my performance following the personal practice.From September 10 th to 25 th, 2015, the author attended the 15 th China Pingyao International Photography Festival, acted as one of volunteers in the International Department. The author was responsible for Inga Bruvere who was from Latvia and her on-site explanation. After receiving the tasks, the author began the following works: being familiarizing with related materials, preparing vocabularies, getting accustomed with the accent of Inga, arranging exhibition hall and interpreting on-site. The author used Paris Interpretive Theory to analyze the original language from two perspectives: loyalty and semantic equivalence, and grasp it from the essay level. Though being unable to taking down notes, the author finished the interpreting smoothly.Through this interpreting, the author deeply realized that an interpreter need keep a clear mind, adopt fast measures to deal with emergency. Besides, an interpreter should reply more on memory rather than notes. Especially under the situation of being unable to take down notes, good memory plays a very important role.In future interpreting practice, the author should strength mental quality, and deal with any emergency with good mentality. The author should improve the poor memory and depend less on notes, and draw lessons from this interpreting to improve weakness in the daily practice, and try best to be a qualified interpreter in the future. |
