Report On Escort Interpreting For Former Bangladesh Ambassadors In Urumqi

With the stable social development of China and the acceleration of globalization, demand on interpretation is increasing. Just like other provinces or autonomous regions, Xinjiang has followed the development steps of country, continuously expanding the exchanges and cooperation fields, organizing various kinds of international forum, and strengthening the Xinjiang’s foreign exchanges and cooperation ability. This report aims to analyze the author’s performance in one task, and draw lessons from it.This report is based on a work of interpreting for the delegation of former Bangladesh ambassadors in Urumqi. The author worked as an interpreter to the delegation. During this visit, the author undertook the tasks of interpreting as liaison interpreter and consecutive interpreter.This report consists of five parts. The first part gives an introduction to the interpreting tasks. The second part describes what preparations were made before this activity and how these preparations were carried out. The third part is about theoretical background in which this report was set. The fourth part is the focus of the report, the author analyze the interpreting task through the theory. The last part shows what lessons have been drawn from the whole interpreting practice.
