On Liaison Interpreting In Enterprise Fire Station

The report is based on the author’s liaison interpreting in enterprise fire station. Three chronological liaison interpreting cases are chosen for analysis and discussion in the report. Based on the analysis of the cases, the author concludes that the liaison interpreter should be aware of cultural differences between interlocutors; meanwhile, s/he also needs to pay attention to the position and role of the interpreter in the communication-based liaison interpreting. And it is obvious that consecutive interpreting is different from liaison interpreting in which settings are more various and less formal, which requires interpreters to seek additional strategies besides those applicable to consecutive interpreting.
