This is a translation practice report, based on China, Xinjiang and Central Asia: History, Transition and Crossborder Interaction Into 21 st Century by Colin Mackerras and Michael Clark, Australian scholars, of which introduction and Chapter 1 are the source text. The excerpted parts mainly describe that the author recalls research progress of earlier and contemporary Xinjiang and Central Asia scholars who have conducted it to these regions, and explains that he will analyze the relationships between Xinjiang and Central Asia under glocality of Xinjiang and Central Asia as a framework of analysis. Chapter Two is description of translation task, which briefly introduces the author and analyzes linguistic features and style of source text. Chapter Three is description of translation process, that is, preparation prior to translation and arrangement of translation plan. Chapter Four is translation theory framework and research. In accordance with stylistic features of source text, the writer chooses Skopos Theory among several translation theories to guide the following translation practice. Chapter Five is case analysis, which discusses the difficulties in translation, and solves these problems by using appropriate translation strategies and methods under the guidance of Skopos Theory. Chapter Six is the summary, which concludes lessons and insights from translation as well as unsettled problems during the translating.
