Study On The Activities Of Competing For Advancement And Excellence By CPC

The activity of competing for advancement and excellence, an important task advocatedby the17th People’s Congress and the4th Plenary Session of the11th Central Committee, isthe intensification and extension of studying and practicing activities. It is significant as todeepening and expanding the study of the scientific concept of development, propelling basicParty organizations along with Party members to exert functions as the advanced, as well aspromoting the scientific development and social harmony. The necessity and value of theresearch on the activity of competing for advancement and excellence is dependent on thesignificance of the activity of competing for advancement and excellenceIn different historical periods，CPC employed different forms of activities in theCompetition for Advancement and Excellence. These activities were similar to ourcompetition today, whereas significant differences do exist between the two. In the past, theactivities of competing for advancement and excellence were mostly short-term andtemporary. Nowadays, the competition is, however, a regular mission for the promotion ofexemplary roles conscientiously played by basic Party organizations and members.In their implementation of the Competition, basic Party organizations and Party membersshould be based on the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics as theguidance, focus on the deep understanding of the scientific outlook, and take the actualsituations of their regions, sectors and units as the starting point. Basic Party organizationsand members must be based on their own duties and closely focus on the topic of studying thescientific concept of development. The goal and contents of the activity, which is “promotingthe scientific development and social harmony, serving the masses and enhancing the basicParty members” must be well grasped.This dissertation mainly focuses on the long-term mechanisms and effective methods ofcompeting for advancement and excellence activities, as well as the case studies pertaining tothe subject. The long-term mechanisms and the effective methods serve as significantfacilitators in smooth implementation of the activities of Competition and achievement of set objectives.
