The9.11terrorist attacks, together with the deteriorating American nationalsecurity situation all precipitated the readjustments of American national securitystrategy such as the implementation of the “preemptive strike” policy, the deepening ofthe cooperation with the international anti-terrorist communities as well as theintensifying containment of Weapons of Mass Destruction. From another perspective,America also seems to have found its justification for expanding its war withinternational terrorist forces, given its insufferable trauma and irreversible physicalloss brought about by the incessant terrorist attacks represented by9.11. However, asopposed to the support and empathy from the international communities as Americahas presumed, what has awaited it is no more than the unprecedented surge of Anti-Americanism and ever rampant terrorist infestations at home.This thesis is thus dedicated to the investigation of this seemingly intricatecontradiction between the “justification” and “opposition”. By means of probing intothe theoretical, realistic roots and ideological maneuvers of American global“anti-terrorist” wars, along with the examinations of real intentions hidden underAmerican readjustments of its national security strategy, it was convinced thatAmerican global anti-terrorism, influenced by the military advocated NewConservatism, motivated by the realistic geopolitical and geoeconomic advantages andunder the pretext of humanitarian interventions was merely a tool adopted by Americain an endeavor to establish a more globalized, more institutionalized and moreculturally penetrating New Hegemony...
