The Problem And The Countermeasure Research In Crisis Management Of College Students

The intertwining between social transformation and higher education reform brings manyuncertain factors to the development of colleges. Various student crises often happen, which notonly affects the normal teaching and management of colleges, the life of teachers and students, butalso affected the social image and reputation of colleges. It is extremely disadvantageous for thestability and development of colleges. However, in current college management in our country, thelack of crisis awareness is a very common phenomenon. The lack of crisis awareness directly leadsto the perplexity of colleges towards student crisis and results in adverse consequences. Therefore,how to improve the crisis prevention awareness and promote the crisis management ability andlevel of college administrators for critical incidents is the ultimate goal of this research.Due to the rapid social development, social contradictions grow noticeable. College students’outlook on life and values become increasingly complex. In this situation, the occurrence of thestudent crisis in colleges is inevitable. We should have a scientific understanding for this. Neithershould we ignore it, nor should we dread it. We should use a scientific attitude and rationalthinking to analyze such kind of crisis. On the one hand, we should realize that the occurrence ofcollege student crisis is necessarily associated with the existing problems in current educationsystem and student management system in domestic colleges, which can’t be solved effectively.On the other hand, we should take a scientific point of view, especially use a modern scientificmanagement theory and public crisis management theory, to analyze the existing problems incurrent college student crisis management and put forward countermeasures to solve this problemproperly.Based on the above consideration, this paper, from the actual conditions of colleges in ourcountry, reviews a lot of literature, absorbs relevant academic achievements and gives thedefinition of "college student crisis","college student crisis management" and other relatedconcepts. Relating to the typical cases with great social influence, this paper explores the existingproblems in current college student crisis management, which mainly include weak crisisawareness, obstructed information channel, imperfect crisis handling mechanism, unsound crisis management and legal system, etc. Finally, applying the theory of crisis management, in view ofthe causes of these problems, this paper emphasizes the countermeasures to improve collegestudent crisis management in our country and advocates responding to these crises from fiveaspects, namely, updating management concept, strengthening the education to address crisis,perfecting management system, improving managerial mechanism and strengthening legal system,in the hope of increasing the level of college administrators for college student crisis management.
