After the reform and opening up, China has entered the stage of building amoderately prosperous society, social development into the fast lane, and economicdevelopment in the critical period. China in the coming period, the period ofdevelopment and social contradictions highlight of the coexistence will be aprominent feature. With profound adjustment of the profound changes of theeconomic system, the social structure of the profound changes in the pattern ofinterests, ideas, profound changes in various social contradictions and social problemsare emerging. Strengthen social management innovation, deepen the resolution ofsocial conflicts has become a major political issue. It is very necessary social reality inpeople’s mediation mechanism can not give full play to the role, function andgradually reduce the administrative mediation, litigation due to the rule of law is notperfect and can not fully assume the burden to resolve social conflicts, to explore theestablishment of a new diversified contradiction resolution mechanisms and muchneeded. Firstly, the theory of social contradictions analysis and demonstration, andthen from the characteristics of the new era of social contradictions, forms, generatesocial conflicts deep-seated reasons start to analyze the situation on China to resolvecontradictions and disputes mechanism, mediation mechanism to resolve socialconflicts and discuss the feasibility and pointed out the existing problems of themediation mechanism, finally, put forward opinions and suggestions to furtherimprove the mediation mechanism. The paper proposes mediation mechanism shouldbe formed led to the Politics and Law Committee, the various departments worktogether, people’s mediation on the basis of the three-tier network, formed runningsmoothly up and down to maintain a consistent work pattern. The establishment of arelatively independent mediation center has a full-time staff, specific physicalorganization of the workplace. In order to better play the role of mediation, themediation center also set up a coordinating body, integrated with each other in variousdepartments, straightening out relations the the linkage work process, the auxiliaryand mediation center.
