Internet, with its overwhelming development trend, amplifies the social contradictionsof China’s transition and profoundly changes the pattern of public opinion in our country. Inthe national propaganda and ideological conference which was held on November27,2013,chairman Xi Jinping states that we need to improve the quality of network public opinion’sguidance and the occupation consciousness of the new pattern position of public opinion.College students are successors of socialism, so government and universities should payattention to the influence of network ideological propaganda on college students. However,the events or even campaign of publishing appeal and seeking support raised by collegestudents using the network increases year by year.If those events are aspiring, they can playa positive impact on students, or they can be negative. College students’ network groupincidents has become a new task in the construction of harmonious campus and harmonioussociety.This thesis, based on public management, psychology theory, and a large number ofjournal material, uses different methods such as journal analysis, case study and theorycombining with practice to study the college students’ network group incidents to grasp itshappening and governancing mechanism, to analyze its characteristics and causes, andfinally to put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. The author readsa lot of journals and books about the mass incidents, network mass incidents, and college’snetwork public opinion. What’s more, the author uses statistics report from the33rd CNNICreference and IRI annual network investigation to make this thesis more persuasive.This thesis can divided into five parts: the first part is introduction, mainly introducesthe research background and significance of this paper, the research status at home andabroad and the method of the writing train; The second part is the theory overview whichanalyzes the real-life and network mass incidents’ definition, characteristics and type basedon social governance theory, social conflict theory and political participation. The third partmainly summarizes the current situation of college students’ network group incidentsthrough cases in recent years and related data and analysis reasons from both subjective andobjective, aspects and then discuss its positive and negative effects; The fourth part putsforward on countermeasures on college students’ network group incidents from threeaspects: the establishment of the school management mechanism, the optimization of socialenvironment and the improvement of the college students themselves. The fifth part gives conclusion and prospections.
