In the waves of food safety events, social responsibility of food companies(hereinafter referred as SRFC) has caused the attention of the academia and practice.Endlessly food safety events make people constantly asking that, where is the SRFCin China? Food safety is a national event. In the current situation of food safety in ourcountry,a lot of problems on the practice of SRFC still exist; Research theseproblems and establish the relevant legal system, are the purpose of this article.In addition to the preface and conclusion, the article is divided into the followingfive parts:The first part of the article is the concept and characteristics of SRFC. Throughthis part we can find that, researches around the concept of SRFC, were not yet out ofthe define made by foreign scholars and didn’t yet distinguish the difference betweeneconomics and law.The second part is to reveals the problems of SRFC. Closely connecting with thecurrent situation of food safety in China,this part divided into three levels of foodcompanies, government organizations and consumers, to reveal all sorts of problemsexisting in carrying out social responsibility and the protection system of China’s foodcompanies.The third part is to excavate the reason of the food companies’s problems. Thispart answers the question of why China’s food companies have many problems inSRFC, mainly from the analysis of three aspects, namely the traditional level, industrylevel and system level. Among them, the reasons for the system level should be saidto be the most critical reason. There are many deficiencies in the government’ssupervision of food companies to fulfill SRFC, including the inefficient, inadequatepunishment and low safety standards.The fourth part review the foreign food companies fulfilling their socialresponsibilities. The purpose of this part is to provide advanced, legislative conceptand legislative technology for construction of the related system of our country.The fifth part is to study the mechanism of promoting SRFC,aiming at the the food companies’s problems. This part are divided into two aspects of internalpromotion mechanism and external promotion mechanism. Internal promotionmechanism focus on enhancing the consciousness of SRFC,and external promotionmechanism pay attention to the government regulation of food companies.
