The financial crisis of America erupted in2007, which finally caused the worstinternational financial and economic crisis in the past century. The neo-liberal systemof the United States whose theoretical basis is neo-liberalism was being criticized soseverely by Academic circles and abroad. So the neo-liberalism which beat the drumfor deregulation and trade liberalization has become a critical target, and then, onceagain that a new anti-neo-liberal tide emerged all around the world. Many foreignexperts and scholars even believe that the neo-liberalism has lost its living space, andmany scholars in our country also pointed out that the global financial smashup marksneo-liberalism’s bankruptcy. On this occasion, it is necessary to make a re-explorationof the neo-liberalism. Today, that keeping a weather eye open for and stemming thetorrent of the neo-liberal model which is imposed to world by America, and drawing onthe reasonable elements in the economic fields is important to deepen the reform ofChina. This paper attempts to explain the neo-liberalism in the new period, and seizeits influence in China, and scientifically analyze the basic principle of neo-liberalismby using Marxist standpoint, and try to present some suggestions for dealing withneo-liberalism in our country under the new situation, hoping that it can be referentialto cope with neo-liberalism in present stage in China.This paper is divided into four parts, except the foreword and the conclusion:The first part is a general introduction of the neo-liberalism. Firstly, it putsforward the definition of the neo-liberalism, using the ideas of the experts and scholarsfrom domestic and foreign. Secondly, it tries to summarize the main theoretical viewsof neo-liberalism systematically. Thirdly, divides the development process ofneo-liberalism into five parts, and explains one by one. From the foregoing, the essenceof neo-liberalism is the theoretical system which is servicing for the global expansionof international monopoly capital, especially the international financial monopolycapital.The second part is the discussion of neo-liberalism’s development in China and itsinfluence with China, and the neo-liberalism’s development in China is divided intofour stages. At the beginning, there is an initial confrontation with China’s regime andthe mainstream ideology. Then, in the veil of academic theory, it tries to influence economic, political, and cultural development direction of China. Thereafter,neo-liberalism has become an independent system instead of scattered viewpoints. Atlast, it is gradually on the wane, comparing to occupying a certain market in China atone time.The third part attempts to analyze the basic principle of neo-liberalism by usingMarxist standpoints. The theoretical Foundations of neo-liberalism is individualism,and The theoretical cornerstone, private ownership, and its chief standpoint is overallmarketization. Here comments on the important ideas of neo-liberalism by usingMarxist standpoints, hoping that it can enrich and develop Marxist system in China,and provide some theoretical tips for dealing with neo-liberalism at the same time.The fourth part proposes some suggestions for dealing with neo-liberalism in thenew situation. Today, the neo-liberalism is gradually on the decline, the neo-liberalmodel of the capitalism should be kept close watch, at the same time, we should see theneo-liberalism has not entirely lost its survival soil. Many economic standpoints arestill full of vitality abroad as well as in China. Not only that, China adhere to the roadof socialism with Chinese characteristics, never copy Western things, but learn from alloutstanding achievements of human civilization for me, to promote China’s economicand social progress, and also is the proper meaning.We should treat neo-liberalism scientifically, for it has great significance fordeepening the reform, and the development of our socialist market economy andperfecting the theoretical system of Marxism.
