The Study Of Song Dynasty Book Publishing System

To avoid his dynasty becoming a short-lived dynasty after the five dynasties, the first emperor of the Song dynasty Zhao Kuangyin established "straighten" governing State policy. Invention of woodblock printing and movable type of maturity provides technical support for book publishing, reform of the imperial examination of mature promoted the increase of demand for books. The appearance of printing making the book publishing process more easier than before, the process of simplifying making the Song dynasty become the first dynasty which appeared scale printing, before it became a real sense of the printing industry. Book printing industry grew rapidly in the Song dynasty contributed to a large spread, but at the same time there have been a variety of problems, this much-needed management measures taken by the Government for publication of books in the Song dynasty, and law as the last constraint of the country is an important management tool.This paper is divided into three sections described in detail in book publishing and distribution system of the Song dynasty.Part I describes the book publishing legislation guiding ideology of Song, there are five main components:strengthening the ruling philosophy, maintaining authoritarian rule; strengthen information protection, enhance military security code for Imperial’s book selection of outstanding talent, standardize the market order, control market prices; protection of publishing interests, the fight against piracy. The basic form of law including four forms:basic law, the emperor of the imperial, make orders, and Government statement. The various legal forms formed a mature legal system of book publishing at last.Part II describes the legal content of book publication and distribution system in the Song dynasty, it including the censorship beforehand、levels of rewards as well as afterwards supervision system. The censorship beforehand including the manuscript review and samples sent for approval system. The censorship beforehand is the essence of library management link, the level of reward system is a means to punishments and the afterwards supervision system is the complement and guarantee for the first of two. Part Ⅲ describes the effect of book publishing law、influence factors of the effect and its history characteristics. While book publishing system in the Song dynasty have some effectiveness, but it did not fundamentally solve the book violations. From the law enforcement environment, the law itself, and personal factors, such as led to the poor results. Song as the first dynasty who took legal forms to control the scale book publishing, has developed its own legal personality, although these laws have some shortcomings, but as the history of China’s first attempt it have a profound impact on later.
