| This thesis explores Tibetan style wooden bowl making techniques at Shanqiaotou Village,Shangri-la as well as its impact on the development of this village. Through researching the natural environment and the history of Shanqiaotou Village, the author finds that the production of Tibetan wooden bowls has significant impact on the sustainable development of the village. The rise and development of the wooden bowl manufacture industry aptly represents the essence of the kindred spirit of the villagers in their courage in carving out the many different routes to survival as a tradition. The determination of the villagers to explore various opportunities to sustain livelihood and continued survival is a special character trait from both the Hans and the Tibetans in "self-understanding " and " knowledge of others". With this mixed character trait the villagers extend their efforts over many generations to explore and apply all feasible factors that contribute to the establishment of livelihood, economically self-sufficiency and self-reliance.The village culture-at least a cultural symbol explicit-coincides with the culture of surrounding Tibetan villages. Such cultural and psychological mechanisms develop and continue to be passed down and passed on by villagers, which in turn lay the foundation for the exchange of goods and marriages with outsiders. Tibetan wooden bowls workshops taking root here is the deliberate choice of a positive situation. The upper valley of dry climatic conditions are suitable Jinsha wooden bowls processing, and manufacture of Tibetan wooden bowls is a strong symbol of Tibetan culture, while the long-term accumulation of practical experience in the villagers’economic exchanges with the outside world is far superior when compared to neighbouring villagers. Hence, we believe that wooden bowls manufacturing at Shanqiaotou Village has spurred prosperity and development of the village and can be described as a milestone in the village’s development history to some extent, and that it summarises the historic aspects of the village, now and in the future. The author will introduce "the present" of Shangqiaotou Village.We can know that the villagers try their best to enjoy more benefits from national folk culture protection policy and tourism,but they also work together to keep the honor of "wooden village"and maitance a healthy relationship.And at the sametime,it is also one impact of wooden bowl making techniques. |
