Differentiation And Integration Of U.S. And Germany’s Fundamental Values On The Background Of Globalization

With the globalization of economy, politics, culture and environment moved forward, the word "values" become more and more popular in our civil society, at the same time, a few countries pay more attention to the issues of values and use it as judgment standard on international communication."Values" is presented not only as a philosophical category, but also as a cultural and political question. The dissertation get inspiration from the book of Helmut Schmidt, Auf der Suche nach einer offentlichen Moral, which mentioned the basic values of USA and Germany. On the basis of analyzing the divergence between two states, trying to get the commonality and differences in the western values. Then we can get something useful on the construction of Socialist Core Values.The dissertation is mainly divided into four parts:the preface try to explain the motivation of this dissertation, tease the research status about basic values of America and Germany, and article structure and research route. The first part analysis the definition of Value and Values. The second part explains the background of basic values of two countries. The third part focus on the content of basic values, compare the concept of liberty, right, justice in particular. The last part attempt to point the issues of two countries’ basic values in the process of globalization and their future trends, in the meantime make us thinking more about how to construct Socialist Core Values more reasonably.The globalization brings different influences to various countries about economy, politics, culture and other aspects. In the new era, on the one hand globalization promote the pursuit of common ideas and universal values, on the other hand globalization also collapse the difference in countries’ culture and values gradually. In the face of globalization, America and Germany have shown some problems in values, which maybe appear in China’s process of social development. The comparison highlights the issues also reflect the trend of integration. How to save our national characteristics in the integration of globalization will be an important issue on the construction of Socialist Core Values in China at the present stage.
