After the WWⅡ, the international situation and pattern of the worldexperiencing a significant change since the1980s. In the changeableinternational situation, Deng Xiaoping creatively inherited and developedthe diplomatic thought of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, conducted seriesof major strategic adjustment of China’s foreign policy, changed theestimate of war and peace in the past and the strategy of "one line";articulated the scientific judgment that the peace and the development aretwo major topics in the modern world; stressed state diplomatic relationswill not depend on the similarities and differences of social system andideology; and more clearly highlight the Five Principles of PeacefulCoexistence; judge and decide the position and attitude of the countryfrom the fundamental interests of the Chinese people and the people ofthe world and accord the merits of the international situation; put forwardestablishing a new international economic and political order on the basisof the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, a great idea of "onecountry, two systems", always adhere to the basic state policy of openingto the outside world. In the complicated world situation that the collapseof the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe upheaval, he proposed toestablish a strategy that meet and observe the danger calmly, hide one’slight and keep in shadow keeping a low profile, striving to makeachievements. These ideas, theory and strategy greatly enriched andperfected the foreign policy of our country, guiding China’s diplomaticwork to achieve plenteous achievements. Our country has been followingDeng Xiaoping’s diplomatic thought as the core guiding ideology ofdiplomatic work for more than30years, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and XiJinping continued and developed Deng Xiaoping’s diplomatic thought,and on the basis of Deng Xiaoping’s diplomatic thought, they put forward a lot of new thoughts, new ideas, new policy, all of these provide apowerful spring for China’s diplomacy and the development of socialistmodernization with the China features. The study of Deng Xiaoping’sdiplomatic thought and its influence and inspiration of contemporarysociety have important theoretical and practical significance for thecurrent diplomatic work.
