The Policy Comparative Study Between China And The USA In North Korean Nuclear Crisis

Since the first North Korean nuclear crisis abrupt in1990s, the North Koreannuclear issue has become an obsession to the Korean and northeast Asia for more than20years. During this period, this crisis had been continuously upgraded in2002,2009and2013, and changed it character from a combat between North Korea and the US, to thecore issue of Asia-Pacific security. From bilateral contacts at the beginning, to the latertrilateral, quartet and hexagonal meeting under the multilateral framework, it involvedthe most influential countries in the world, making it not only the core issue ofnortheast Asia regional security issues, but also the “highlight” of overwhelminglyinternational politics and the top problem of global security. It is very important toanalyze the interaction process and policy in Chinese and US scholars’ works since theNorth Korean nuclear crisis has significant meaning to China’s national interest, as wellas in Sino-American relationship.This article embedded in the background of North Korean nuclear crisis and usesthe method of comparative analysis, literature analysis and historical analysis in order tocompare the two countries’ previous foreign policy through the Korean nuclear crisis.This article first probe into its historical roots that based on the various origins of theKorean nuclear crisis and combing the newly round of the nuclear crisis and discusses itsinfluence on China and the United States, then summarizes the influential factors ofdiplomatic decision-making as well as adopt this policy. Finally the article draw aconclusion and analysis its differences and similarity, which is influenced by the nationalinterests, geopolitical, security strategy and historical factors.
